Hi
I am not a power seller just a simple ebay member with a problem
I am having problems with an Australian power seller who clearly does not uphold the values of power sellers
Brief outline if this Power Sellers sins
1.Kept both item and $580 of my money
2.Dragged out delivery past paypal deadline
3.Has now sent 2 fake postal confirmations, 1 registered 1 express post
4. Demanded that I cancel dispute and post positive before shipping goods
5. Dragged out the dispute process so I cannot leave a negative.
6. Also this "power seller" is still trading and promoting power seller confidence, yet his feedback is below the power seller minimum feedback level
I have escalated the issue to ebay trust and securities but he is still trading as a power seller.
Both his conduct and feedback levels are not what I can gather power sellers class as the minimum level and I believe he is tainting the power seller name
What I can not obtain from ebay, who polices or controls Power sellers, - ebay could not give any Power seller contact but suggested I contact power seller forums.
if anyone could please point me in the direction of whom could help me that would be greatly appreciated
What is most gutting is that i trusted this seller beyond what i would trust a normal ebayer as he is a powerseller and i got burned for it

One thing that I always consider is that power seller status reflects the standing between ebay and the seller, not necessarily the seller and the buyers. I expect the same on any transaction be it from a new ebayer, or an established power seller.
In any case, you should at least have the seller's contact information after making a transaction, an address anyway. There is a process by which you can request their phone number, and I'm not aware of any instance where ebay has denied a contact number when requested. It's pretty automated. What information about the seller were you looking for?
When a seller asks you to leave positive feedback before completing the transaction, that's a red flag. I hope you didn't do this. The only circumstance where I ever ask a buyer to leave positive feedback pending an action on my part is if I'm giving a refund without requesting that the item be returned. Only if I'm allowing a buyer to keep both item and money (and this is rare) will I ask that they leave positive feedback before I issue the refund.
If the seller is below the feedback rating for power sellers, then they will lose the status. It just doesn't happen as soon as their rating falls below the threshold.
Since I don't know details of the transaction there is little advice I can give, but I will say that you should not be making concessions to a power seller because they are so, if anything you should expect extra good service, not be making concessions to poor service. But then again, that's why I have universal expectations regardless of whom I'm dealing with.
As far as getting information, I suppose you could hire an attorney and have them subpoena the seller's information from ebay. If a subpoena is filed, then ebay has to turn over everything they have about him. Or, you could possibly do the subpoena yourself if you know how. Good luck.

" spose the only thing i can do is go legal on him and in the mean time hope ebay deals with him"
That's true, "go legal"
Don't expect ebay to take action against him. They rarely enforce their own policies.
