Well, it's legal and within ebay's policy that antique ivory can be sold. However, I still think this creates demand for ivory.

In any case, another problem is that ebay is not interested or qualified in determining that which is antique ivory and that which isn't. As long as the user doesn't claim that the ivory is new, and says that it's legal ivory if they happen to be asked, then ebay will allow the sale.
